"Chris Statham's Afronia hit a natural chord with me. Terrorism these days is a real fear and the fear that the protagonist feels especially on Independence Day is emotionally shattering. As a reader, I felt the prose read easily and I cannot truly understand the mixed reviews. This is a very important piece of fiction with a message. I am eager to read the next installment but I will have to wait because this is one heavy book. Unfortunately, I can place myself in Jacob's shoes. Having fun, being young, falling in love until a Totalitarian Government begins to emerge and there is constant stress and anxiety.
